Living at the foot of a wooded ridge

The valley floors sit low here and the ridge crests stand well above them, and a lot of Chattooga County housing sits along the base of a ridge with forest above it. There is national forest over a lot of the county, and the state park sits right at the foot of Taylor Ridge. Living under a wooded slope has two consequences worth pricing in. The river has come up before

The Chattooga rises in Walker County, runs southwest through Trion, past Summerville and Lyerly, and finishes in Weiss Lake on the Coosa over in Alabama.
